Being
the son of a Diplomat in the Foreign Service- R Khubchand- also known as "Mony"
- started travelling around extensively from the age of 5 and then went back
to Europe- for further studies
However, the desire to come home was strong and he returned to India in the
seventies- just at the time the country was going through a lot of
challenges.
After working in different organizations- he decided to venture out on his
own- and to show the world what India was capable of doing
So, in 1983 he started INDUS VALLEY a Buying Office for Exports &
followed this up with Greenfields in 1996 - a partnership with his children.
During this course
of 25 years- are now representing Companies in six continents for their
purchase of consumer goods- such as textiles/giftware/fashion accessories/
ready to wear

His son Rahul and daughter Raleena though started in different lines, are
an active part of the Company and team.
Mony was also awarded the Life- time Achievement Award- by the EPCH,
Government of India for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of
Handicrafts exports.
Monica-
his wife- who passed away in 2004- helped start the Company- but moved into
other fields-and earned quite a good reputation in her own strength
She was actively involved in Spiritualism, Art of Living,
Meditation,Healing and many other charitable and good causes
The apartment she maintained was used for teaching - free of cost- and had
set up her own Company Chrysalis for this purpose
So, when we decided to use her place for the Bed & Breakfast scheme -
what more appropriate name to go in for- than BnB Chrysalis.
With that in mind- the project which started in 2008 - is looking to people
from different parts of the world - wanting to explore India and stay in a
comfortable/homely
affordable and clean place when in Delhi.
